Mindy and I started our revival journey together (36 years after our three-month, cross-country trip in a wee little car, with a pup tent in the trunk, a cooler in the backseat and a handful of travellers cheques in our pocket) by flying to Seattle, Washington. Originally, it took us two-and-a-half months to get there but today we made it in six hours.

We intentionally planned a long layover in Seattle to give us time to visit with our old friend, Beth and her husband Brett. When Beth picked us up at the airport in her car with the license plate GOGRLGO we knew she had not lost her fun sense of humor.

We enjoyed seeing their newly purchased home complete with fishing pond, blueberry patch, fig trees and a house built in the 60s that seem straight out of the Brady Bunch. Or even more closely, like the homes we grew up in. After a delicious lunch, lots of catching up and laughing, we were off to return to the airport for our flight to Alaska.
