Today, we are enroute from the USA to Canada, Alaska to British Columbia. Today is also the day of the Total Solar Eclipse. In the area we are sailing, we will see a partial solar eclipse (69% coverage of the sun). The total phase (100% coverage) will be visible from a narrow path spanning across America, from the coast of Oregon to the eastern edge of South Carolina. Mindy’s sister Pat is in Oregon and her husband Dave in Nashville with her son Alex to witness the eclipse. Not wanting to miss out, Mindy sat herself on the top deck to witness this once-in-every-99-years event. Proper glasses and all. Since this photo below was the most sun we have seen so far this trip, there was no partial, total or any eclipse to behold. Did see some cool coverage on TV though.
